Amazing fresh fish!! I first visited Oifig a Fish on their last day of summer in 2025. I got the crab meat served with fresh tomatoes and delicious sourdough bread. It was the perfect way to finish up our trip in Connemara.
We had been waiting all winter to head back out to Clifen to try more of their menu.
We both went for the 1/2 lobster and my goodness it did not disappoint. I also believe they serve THE BEST chips in Ireland if not globally!
Conor was great craic and kept the chats going!
The chef is incredible! Couldn’t recommend this spot more.

Our third visit to Oifig An Fish was even better than the last!
We started with the crab claws to share; generous, full of flavour, and perfectly complemented by the delicious sourdough and a zesty lemon dill sauce.
For our mains, we couldn’t resist the fish and chips and wow, they did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and flaky, wrapped in a perfectly light and crispy batter. The chips were simply sensational – golden, crisp, and full of flavour. Donna kindly took the time to explain the love and care that goes into preparing them, and you can truly taste the difference.
The wine and beer list is sensational, and this place just keeps getting better. Already looking forward to our next visit! Huge thank you to Michael, Hannah, Donna, and the whole team.
Unbelievable.
Genuinely class.
Got the fish and chips and the 1/2 lobster and chips to take away.
Fish was as fresh as could be, and the batter was cumbly and delicious. Not your usual greasy take away fish.
Lobster was fantastic. It might look like a lot of money for a take away item but the chef loads the lobster into the box.
We came for the seafood (obviously), but got the surprise of some of the nicest chips I've ever had.
I don't know if it was the type of oil or whatever seasoning the chef put on but wow, sensational.
5/5 is not enough, 10/5 stars!!
